Our Curriculum

In the document below ("Our Curriculum"), you will find information on the curriculum we follow:

Our pupils love sharing their knowledge and information learnt in class. You can view our "Did You Know?" videos, prepared by students, below:

We also pride ourselves in making sure our curriculum is fun and engaging with curriculum enhancements. Below is a flavour of what our pupils get up to, enhancing their learning and time in school:

Below are some links that we believe you may find useful in supporting your learning/supporting your child's learning:

Reading & Phonics

Phonics is taught daily across Reception and Key Stage One using the Read, Write Inc. scheme of work. When a child has been successful with each phase from 1 to 6, they then move on to developing their awareness of Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, often referred to as GPS. Children are regularly assessed so that they are working within the appropriate phonics phase.  When a child is in Year 1 (during the month of June) the undertake the ‘Phonics Screening’ assessment to determine if they are working within at least phase 5.  If they do not meet this requirement, they will retake the assessment the following year.
